Mason | Charleston WV Baby Photographer

This quilt is made of cloth and thread
To place upon your little bed
It's not an heirloom just to keep,
But to lie upon as you count sheep.

Or perhaps the floor is the perfect place
For a doll and teddy picnic place.
This quilt can be anything you dream
From superman's cape to the robe of a king.

Pretend it's a raft adrift at sea
Or a fort for you and me.

Mason's milestone session his Momma brought a quilt made by his grandma.

The colors in the patchwork quilt were beautiful, rich shades of blues, reds and gold.

A sentimental quilt for Mason to crawl on for his 7 month milestone session.

"At the time I did not know that stories of life are often more like rivers than books."
-Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It

The weather looked like a summer storm was trying to roll through. It was cloudy and overcast but it was warm, just like you'd expect for an end of summer evening. The river was shallow and quiet and hadn't seen rain in a while.

From the very beginning this little boy, Silas, loved playing with the rocks. He would pick one up and throw it and then pick up another and throw it too. He would throw the rocks until all he was left with was the rocks almost to big for his tiny hands to carry.

His Mama carried him on her hip, stepping into the cool river water, hand in hand with her husband. It wasn't long until Silas was soaked head to toe from throwing the rocks in the river. He even tried picking up rocks much to big for him. This little boy loved being in the water.

The summer storm clouds disappeared and the late evening sunshine peeked through the trees. It was a perfect day for a session on the river.

Jane | Huntington WV Military Newborn Photographer

Monday, September 18, 2017

It is always an honor to photograph these military sessions.

To see these tiny babies sleeping soundly in their father or mother's uniform, the same uniform they wore to defend our freedom we have today.

This sweet girl, Jane, was photographed in her father's Marine dress uniform. Her older brother, William, when he was just a newborn, was photographed in his father's camis.

Thank you for your service.

And Jane's older brother I photographed as a newborn two years ago,

Norah | WV Newborn Photographer

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

Her name is Norah, which means light in Arabic.

When Norah's Momma contacted me about scheduling her little one's newborn session, they were living in Saudi Arabia. She mentioned she wanted to incorporate the wraps that both her and her husband had worn while living in Saudi Arabia.

Norah was awake for a good bit of her session.

She is the second newborn I have photographed that I just couldn't believe the eye contact she had during the parent part of the session. She was wide awake and full of beautiful personality.

Congratulations Michael and Mercedes on the arrival of your sweet baby girl, Norah!

Meadow | WV Newborn Photographer

Thursday, August 10, 2017

When this baby girl's Momma booked her fresh 48 and newborn session, she told me she was going to name her Meadow.

We both thought flowers would really look beautiful included in her session.

A week before her session (because I'll be honest, I don't have a green thumb) I started shopping for flowers that would look perfect for her session. Flowers that I could put a set together with a matching floral tieback.

When I found the Russian sage at a local nursery, I knew these were the flowers for her session.

The lavender vintage hanky I had found at a local antique shop, lavender floral tieback and lace throw were perfect.

The detail shots are always one of my favorites to photograph.

This age is fleeting and I want to be able to photograph the details for each baby's parents that I know I wanted to hold on to of  my own children at this age.
